Dr. Samantha Curle (DPhil, FHEA, FRSA) is a Reader in Education (Applied Linguistics), Director of the MRes programme in Advanced Quantitative Research Methods (AQM, University of Bath), Pathway Lead for the ESRC’s AQM Southwest Doctoral Training Partnership (SWDTP, University of Bath), and Associate Member of the English Medium Instruction Oxford Research Group (University of Oxford). Her main research interest lies in factors affecting academic achievement in English Medium Instruction (EMI) in higher education. She has published six edited books on EMI with publishers such as Cambridge University Press, Springer, Bloomsbury and Routledge. She is currently editing a special issue on “Research Methods and Generative Artificial Intelligence in Applied Linguistics” in the journal Research Methods in Applied Linguistics. Her EMI-related research has been published in journals such as Studies in Higher Education (HI 129), Journal of Engineering Education (HI 126), Language Teaching Research (HI 81), Language Teaching (HI 79), Journal of English for Academic Purposes (HI 75), International Journal of Bilingual Education and Bilingualism (HI 68) and Applied Linguistics Review (HI 31).
